Memorial Day Weekend

Hello beautiful people. Let me tell you about my Memorial Day Weekend. That's kind of funny, isn't it? Memorial Day Weekend -- how can a day be a weekend?

I had a very good weekend. I started it early on Wednesday night when I arrive at Papa and GG's. I came down to see my Uncle Butch -- I haven't seen him since last September! He's changed a lot. I wonder what he thinks about me. We had a very good time. We played lots and lots of boomba, and we watched some Bert and Ernie tapes. We also read books, and I even learned how to say Elmo. I really love hanging out with my Uncles -- they rock!

On Thursday and Friday, I just hung out with my family. It was cool. On Saturday, I went to my Papa's base ball game. I wore my uniform, and I was a hit! On Saturday night, we went to Granny Nanny's for a BBQ. We had a really good time there. I kept throwing the balls in her pool, and I got to play with Noah.

On Sunday, we had our own BBQ in Uncle Butch's honor. There were lots of people here. The food and company was pretty good, if I say so myself!

On Monday, we had Chinese for lunch. Actually, I didn't eat much of anything. I threw most of my food on the floor, but the rest of the family had Chinese. After we ate, we celebrated my Papa's birthday with a cake and presents. Did you know my Papa's birthday is my half birthday? How cool is that?

I hope you enjoy these few pictures. Stay tuned, my mom's working on some videos!

I am a Granger

Hi everyone. Guess what? I am a Granger with my Papa! He bought me a special base ball uniform just like his. It's a little big for me, but as soon as I get my suspenders, I'll be good to go.I went to the Grangers' game on Saturday. They introduced me as Xavier "Cadet." My Papa's nickname is General. I even had my picture taken with the whole team. The game was fun, even though the Grangers lost.

Fun in Cancun

Cancun

My mom took me to Cancun for 6 days -- just the two of us. Some people told her she was very brave. What about me? I was stuck with her for 6 days people -- 6 days! We had a really good time.

In the morning we would eat breakfast -- I had yogurt, bacon and grapes. Then I went to daycare, and my mom went to the gym. I used to cry when she left, but I wasn't really sad. I only did that to keep her on her toes. I had a lot of fun at daycare -- all the girls who worked there called me Javier. It sounded really cool. We played games and went in the pool and sang songs.

My mom picked me up and then we went to the pool. We hung out there for about 4 hours every day. We'd watch the water aerobics class or play with other kids. I especially liked to play with Danielle. She's from New York, and she was really nice to me. She made me laugh a lot! You will see her in one of the pictures. We ate lunch by the pool too. I had chicken strips, fries and nacho chips every day. I liked to throw the food onthe ground so the birds would come and eat it. It made my mom scream because she is scared of birds. She says she doesn't want to get pooped on.

After the pool, we went up to the room to take a nap. I would sleep for at least 2 hours. Then we changed and freshened up (no idea what that means, but my mom said that's what we were doing). Then it was downstairs for dinner and ice cream. Then we would go to the lobby to hang out. They had a player piano, and I like to run around it and get chased by my mom. After all this, we would go to the live show. Sometimes they had a circus and sometimes they had Elvis and Madonna impersonators. The shows were a lot of fun! After the shows came bedtime, but I was too pumped to sleep. My mom would walk me around the hotel in the stroller until I fell asleep. One night it took 45 minutes!

While we were in Mexico, we also went on a submarine ride. We had to take a boat to get to the submarine. It was a lot of fun, but my mom was holding on TIGHT! I was so proud of her -- she didn't even get seasick. The submarine ride was cool; some sea turtles swam right past me.

My mom wants to say that traveling alone with a toddler wasn't so bad. But then again, I am an exceptional child. She says pack lots and lots of snacks, books, toys, and wet ones. It also helps to sit next to grandparents like we did on the way home.

All in all, Cancun was a blast, and I am very lucky we were able to go.

Now -- when do we go back!

The Weekend of May 16

Hi everyone. It was a busy weekend as usual. First up was Emma's birthday party on Saturday. Emma is three! Her party was at her house in Midland, and GG and Papa were invited too. The theme was Jasmine from Disney. I've never seen so much Disney Princess and pink stuff in one room! I put on one of the tiaras -- it looked GOOD! Emma's party was a lot of fun. We ate pizza and fake popcorn (love that!), and Emma opened up all of her gifts. She got a lot of stuff-- mostly princess and Hello Kitty. We had a lot of fun.

On Sunday, Papa had his first Granger game. The Grangers are a vintage baseball team. They play with the rules that were in effect in 1863 or some crazy year like that. The one thing I noticed is that they dress funny, and they don't wear gloves. I guess that was two things. I wanted to play with Papa, but I couldn't. I was not so happy about that. I just kept yelling "ball" and "boomba" which means bat. It was cold and windy so that was a bummer. But -- the Grangers beat the other team (the Port Huron Welkins) 26 - 1 or some outrageous score like that. Papa played hurler (pitcher) and second sack, and he was hitting the ball really well. It was fun, but I hope the weather is nicer for the next game.

So that pretty much sums up my weekend.

Happy Monday!

My friends

Hello again. As you may have guessed, I have lots of friends. I'm a friendly kind of guy! I want to tell you about them because they will probably be featured on my blog.

First up are the Fortiers -- Nancy (aka Granny Nanny), Doug (aka Nerd), Jeff (aka Jeff the Chef), Brad (aka Bad Brad) and Lindsay (aka Torte). I have known the Fortiers my whole life! They live by Papa and GG. My mom used to babysit for Jeff, Brad and Lindsay. They all turned out ok, so that's a good sign for me. I love to see them. They come over for Thanksgiving dinner and for Christmas. We go to their house for Hanukkah. We have lots of fun together.

The Mcknights are Kristen, Leslie, Evan and Megan. My mom and Kristen have been friends for a long time. They even went to high school together. They also went to the University of Michigan together (GO BLUE!!!). Evan is 4 and Megan is 15 months. I like to go over there to visit them, and I like when we go to the Michigan football games together.

The Cobbs are Jennifer and Christopher. My mom and Jennifer went to Michigan together. Christopher joined the group a few years ago. We let him in even though he is a Spartan because he is a nice guy. My mom stood up in their wedding when she was pregnant, so technically I was there too. I like to go visit them because they are nice to me.

Paula Paula, Chris and Alan make up the Polsons. Paula Paula get that nickname at Michigan, where she and my mom met. Paula Paula and Chris's son, Alan, is one year old. They live in Virginia. I met him last football season when Paula Paula and Alan came out to Michigan to visit. I can't wait to see them again.

The Mertes are my friends from Midland. Michelle and Scott are the mom and dad, and they have a daughter named Emma who is 3. Michelle and my mom work together, and I go to the same day care as Emma. I love to hug Emma!

Ryan, Keith and Rhonda are my friends from Atlanta. They work with my mom. I went to Atlanta in March 2007 for Ryan's wedding. Ryan is my secret girlfriend, but shhh, don't tell her husband. Keith and I like to talk sports -- and he let me ride in his convertible. Rhonda is always sending me emails telling me how cute I am -- I love it!

Mi Familia -- My Family

Hi there. Let me tell you about my family. I have my mom -- she rocks. She's an attorney. I love her because she takes really good care of me!

I have two grandparents -- PaPa and GG. Papa plays vintage base ball with the Rochester Grangers. You've seen him in the slideshow. He teaches me all kinds of stuff like how to play catch, how to make animal noise, and how to blow an empty yogurt cup off my mouth (you gotta see this one to understand it). GG works at a Hallmark Store. I love her a lot. She takes me to the park, and she buys me LOTS of clothes!

I have two Uncles. Uncle Butch lives in Seattle. I don't really know where that is, but my mom says it's far away. Uncle Butch is funny -- he sings theme songs from television shows to me. He never gets the words right, but I just laugh and pretend like I don't have a clue. Uncle Josh lives in Rochester. He comes over to PaPa and GG's to play with me. He also wrestles with me and watches sports with me.

I have two cats -- Smokey and Boo. I never see Boo; she runs away when I go near her. I love me some Smokey though. He lets me pet him, and he finishes my string cheese when I don't want anymore.

I have an AWESOME family!

Slide shows are hard!

My mom finally figured out how to post a slideshow so you all can see some of the pictures from the past 17 months. It's about time. You can check it out over to the right. If you click on it, it will take you to the slideshow where you can see the captions.

This was my first Christmas -- 2006. My mom put me in the stocking!

This is me when I was two days old. As you can see, I was destined to be the heart breaker I am today. As you can also see, my mom is a University of Michigan fanatic -- I mean fan.
Go Blue!

Let's Start at the Beginning

The good news is that my mom figured out that a blog would be a great wayto keep all my adoring fans up-to-date on my adventurous life. The bad news is that I am already 17 months old! So now I have to catch you up on what I've been doing for the past 17 months. So I will start just by showing you some photos. Hopefully it is enough to keep you coming back for more!
